Located on the shores of Clear Lake, Camp Kawartha is part of a long and well established camping tradition stretching back to 1921. Our camp integrates traditional camp values along with emerging values of the 21st century. Campers are taught to respect themselves, one another and the environment. With unique straw bale buildings, wind and solar energy and an emphasis on environmental and nature-based programming, campers learn that their community consists not only of people but of the living world that surrounds them.

Camp Kawartha focuses on individual and group development through our various programs and activities. Campers are encouraged to take risks through unique team building activities emphasizing "challenge by choice." With a camper population of 125 and a staff to camper ratio of 1:3, campers receive plenty of support, encouragement and just the right level of challenge. Campers are encouraged to be creative, in touch with nature, kind to one another and to be themselves within our non-competitive environment. A small camp with a big heart, we look forward to seeing old friends and making new friends each summer.
