Food Services Supervisor

The Food Services Supervisor is responsible for planning all meals, ordering all food products, managing the Kitchen Staff, working with an approximate annual expense of $300,000 and contributing to the Pine Crest Health and Safety Team. The Food Services Supervisor must ensure that all meals and kitchen procedures are in accordance with the standards of the YMCA, the Ontario Camping Association and the Ministry of Health. The Food Services Supervisor works closely with the Outdoor Centre Coordinators and Outdoor Pursuits Area Heads to coordinate meal planning and also with the Counselling Heads to ensure accurate numbers of campers are served on a daily basis. The Food Services Supervisor supports and supervises all Kitchen Staff through scheduling and regular feedback and is supported and supervised by the Facilities Manager. QUALIFICATIONS University degree or college degree in hospitality or a minimum of 3 years experience in large quantity cooking in an institutional kitchen or a combination of any of the above Red Seal certification preferred Food Handlers Certificate, WHMIS training and First Aid required Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Food Guide, along with the Day Nurseries Act preferred Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Well developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members of our team. Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and invisible dimensions of diversity. Solid knowledge of Word and Excel preferred.
