Future Leaders of the YMCA Staff – OVERNIGHT CAMP

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Future Leaders of the YMCA program is a two week residential camp program for youth aged 14 – 15. The FLY staff are directly responsible for planning and implementing this leadership program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as a positive role model for c
Ensures that all c
Deliver fun, age appropriate and challenging programs as outlined in the program manual
Recognizes the uniqueness and interests of each c
Participates enthusiastically with campers in all camp activities including daily programs, special events and swimming
Plans and implements camp wide and small group programs that enhance the day-to-day camp program
Responds to all parent inquiries in a courteous and prompt manner
Ensures parents receive communication from camp before the program starts (e.g. camper call), during the program (e.g. newsletter and program plan) and after camp (e.g. progress report or photograph)
Shares with the staff team the duties of ensuring the camp site is clean, organized, and safe
Attends and participates in all staff trainings and meetings
Assists Director as assigned with day camp promotions including day camp fairs, parent nights, and planning and delivering a day camp open house before camp commences

QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2-3 years of experience in a c
Current Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR;
Current Police Records Check;
Certification and/or experience in camp program specialty;
Minimum of 18 years of age by the first day of camp is recommended.
