Leadership 1 "Delaware" Trainer

Leadership 1 staff members are responsible for coordinating the first year of leadership at CQE. The Delaware Trainers work cooperatively to develop and deliver the one-month program which provides an emphasis on camp and tripping skills and focuses on the development of the leader within a small group environment. Leadership 1 participants work on their in-camp hard skills (canoeing, kaykaing, sailing, and windsurfing) and group building components while living in the CQE community. Wilderness and trip leadership skills are developed while out on a two-week trip in the Temagami region. Leadership 1 staff are responsible for updating program curriculum, facilitating personal gorwth opportunities for participants, skill instruction, support and evaluation of participants, and coordinating the Delaware's base camp and wilderness program schedules.

Required Qualifications: NLS, Standard First Aid, CPR C, Wilderness Advanced First Aid, ORCA Tripping Level 2 or equivalent, Criminal Reference Check including a Vulnerable Positions Screening
Preferred Applicants: Strong, independently motivated leaders with extensive camp outtipping experience who relate well to 15 year olds, and deliver consistent and positive feedback.

Employment dates: June 27- September 5, 2010

Weekly wage: $250-$350 dependent on applicant's experience
