Compensation: $80
per day (With the possibility of
Extension)
Situation:
RKY Camp (Kingston Family YMCA) is a resident camp and outdoor
centre for children, youth and families, located on Eagle Lake, approximately
one hour north of Kingston, Ontario. The camp provides outdoor education and
recreation opportunities year round to local children, youth, families and
adults, and operates as a summer camp during the months of July and August. RKY
Camp is currently seeking the services of dynamic, creative, energetic and
experienced camp facilitators, to contribute to our fall outdoor centre
operations. With possibility of

Nature and Scope:
The main responsibility of the position is to ensure
quality experiences for all participants. In addition to group facilitation, successful
applicants will also assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of the camp
facility.
Successful applicants will be camping and youth professionals
dedicated to the values and principles of YMCA camping. S/he must be people
and child focused in her/his approach and an excellent role model to all. Group
facilitators will contribute to the positive, respectful environment of the
camp community.
Responsibilities:

Outdoor Centre Group Facilitation (Climbing Wall, Swimming,
Boating Archery etc)
·
Daily cleaning tasks (mop floors, sweep, wash dishes etc)
·
Assist in the closing of summer facility and transition to winter
operations
Qualifications:
·
Applicants must be 19 year of age as of September 7, 2010
·
Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR (National
Lifeguard Service is an asset)
·
Prior camping experience at an accredited summer residential camp
or outdoor centre
·
Possess a strong work ethic and good organizational skills
·
Previous experience in a YMCA Camping environment is an asset.
·
Previous experience in outdoor education is an asset.
