 Moorelands Camp   because every kid deserves a childhood.

 Tucked away on 45 acres of sandy beaches and dense forests, accessible only by boat is Moorelands  Camp. Each summer we serve 600 economically disadvantaged children and youth from Toronto.  It is our desire to see each child enjoy nature, gain social skills and experience personal growth.

Working at Moorelands is demanding, challenging and rewarding! Our staff are enthusiastic, flexible, team players who will put the needs of others before their own. They are ready for the challenge of being a strong influence, a consistent role model and mentor to the children and youth that come to Moorelands. 

Camp sessions are 8 days in length; staff enjoys 2 full days off in-between sessions, transportation to Toronto provided for days off.

Moorelands Camp Job Description

Service Team 

Qualifications:  Standard First Aid certification. Knowledge and skill in basic repairs and maintenance, current Class G  license with a good driving record, experience driving boats an asset. Desire and ability to work in a childrens environment is essential as is good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, patience, energy and self-control.

 General:  Reporting to the Site Manager, service team staff maintains the Moorelands camp site, buildings, equipment and assists in the day to day operations of the camp.

 Responsibilities:

 Makes repairs to and maintains camp buildings and equipment as requested

Assists with building and repair projects

Collects and disposes of camp waste and recycling

Oversees the daily routine cleaning (washrooms, showers and dining hall floor)

Transports people, food and material to and from camp

Maintains boats and camp vehicles as directed

Responsible for grounds keeping

May assist with the opening/closing of Moorelands facility.

Inspects vehicles/equipment prior to use, ensuring they are safe. Acts as a positive role model for campers and other staff

Participates in all-camp programming and staff meetings

Other duties as assigned
