CAMP OOCHIGEAS- Housekeeping

Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded organization that provides children with cancer and children affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.

 

This position plays an integral role in the cleanliness, health, and well being of our campers, volunteers and site during the summer

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Have a vision for the overall physical well being of the site  
  • Perform cleaning duties to ensure a clean and germ free environment
  • Ensure cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, floors and equipment
  • Replenish stock and supplies
  • Identify any repairs where necessary
  • On-call duties to support camp needs

 

The successful candidate should have the following characteristics:

  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work both on a team and independently
  • Exercise sound judgment in setting and carrying out daily tasks
  • Able to take direction through constructive criticism and direct feedback
  • Comfortable working in a medically based environment

  

The position is a paid summer contract position running from June 23rd to August 25th with the option to extend length of employment to September 2nd at our camp site near Rosseau, Ontario. This is a residential position that includes room and board. All staff must be at least 19 years of age.
