CAMP OOCHIGEAS- Camp Driver

All Summer Staff:

Camp Driver

 

 

Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded organization that provides children with cancer and children affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.

 

This position plays an integral role in supporting the recreational program and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for campers and staff.

 

General Responsibilities:

·         Shopping for various program supplies.

·         Picking up and dropping off of medications for campers

·         Transportation of campers to SickKids Hospital in emergency situations

·         Responsible for petty cash associated with program purchases

·         Occasional driving of campers to off-site program areas (ie. Waterski)

·         General upkeep of camp vehicles (ie. Keeping them clean, full of gas etc.)

·         On call for emergencies

 

Required Criteria:

·         Must hold a G-class license and/or at least 4 years of driving experience

·         An excellent driving record

·         Ability to take initiative

  • Ability to work both on a team and independently
  • Exercise sound judgment in setting and carrying out daily tasks
  • Comfortable working in a medically based environment

  

The position is a paid summer contract position running from June 23rd to August 25th at our camp site near Rosseau, Ontario. This position is either residential with room and board included or the successful candidate can choose to live off-site in the Muskoka area. All staff must be at least 19 years of age.
