Female Counsellors needed for Summer 2012!

Belwood
Lodge and Camp is seeking spirited individuals who are looking for
a summer job that will change their lives!
Who we
are:
Belwood Lodge and Camp is a residential camp
dedicated to meeting the summer recreational needs of children, youth and
adults who are mentally challenged. Our programs are designed to provide
exceptional experiences while ensuring safety and a positive holiday
experience.
Who
you are:
An individual looking for an exciting summer camp
counselling experience that will enhance their resume in a summer camp
environment working with children and adults with special needs. You are confident in your ability to work
with others and hold strong to being a key member of a team. Our female staff positions have all been filled, but we are still looking to fill some male staff positions.
Qualifications:
- Previous
leadership or programming experience an asset
- Knowledge
of nature, environment and science activities
- Desire
to work with individuals (children AND adults) with special needs.
- Good
communication and organizational skills required.
- Minimum
17 years of age as of June 24.
- Standard
First Aid & CPR required.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check is required (after hired)
Responsibilities:
- Participate
and take an equal share of the work load in execution of all daily
programs, mass programs and daily chores pertaining to the campers.
- Responsible
for any individual behaviour or other problems in the cabin, reporting it
to appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure
proper daily hygiene of each camper is being completed.
- Ultimately
responsible for the safety, personal care and supervision of campers.
- To
maintain an open line of communication with co-workers and supervisors.
- To
play a role in the heart of our camp, keeping the campers happy, safe, and
having fun!
Employment
dates: June 25
- September 2, 2012
(plus room & board, most weekends off)
**a bonus $500 is given to staff who complete the entire summer**
** a bonus $500 is awarded to two staff who excelled in their job performance**
