Camp Towhee is NOW hiring for 2011!

If you are looking for a challenging, educational and unique summer at camp, we want to hear from you!  Camp Towhee is a therapeutic summer camp for children/youth with learning disabilities and social/emotional/behavioural issues.  We promote a focus on therapeutic and experiential process, as opposed to just straight-up recreation (though there is plenty of that too!)

Many of our staff have gone on to the fields of education, psychology, camping, social work, health, etc. Many comment that their Towhee experience was invaluable in helping them get jobs and work with all sorts of children/youth/people.  We do tonnes of great training (2 weeks prior to the kids arriving!) 

We are currently hiring for many positions including canoe trip leaders, cabin counsellors, ropes staff, student nurses, music and art programmers, lifeguards and maintenance.  Please consult the website for details and job descriptions.

Summer dates:  June 19th to August 23rd, 2011

Minimum qualifications:

All staff: 19 years & up, CPR and First Aid, criminal record check

Canoe Trippers:  Current Bronze Cross (NLS preferred)

Salary:  typically $2500, supervisors are paid a bit more though.

Application deadline: We are interviewing NOW and end in March, so get your applications in! We interview staff in person, in TORONTO. We make exceptions for those out of province or who have a legitimate reason for not being able to make the journey to Toronto.
